Sadly due to the ongoing pandemic, we are unable to run the Winter Night Shelter this year as in previous years (described below). Instead we are supporting the council’s own projects and other local initiatives related to housing needs, such as offering starter packs to those being offered housing having been in temporary accommodation. Thank you to all who have supported us and who had offered to be involved this coming season (2020/21). Updates on next year will be posted here when the situation becomes clearer.

An Outline of Broxbourne WNS as run in previous years:

Guests are referred to us by Broxbourne Council, and offered an evening meal, overnight accommodation and breakfast in a circuit of seven local churches, each of which is open on a different night of the week.

The project is staffed by volunteers from the local churches and wider community (there is no requirement to be a Christian to either attend or volunteer). It is overseen by a Core Steering Group, with each venue being organised by one or more Venue Coordinators.
